Required for everyone
Insulin & Glucose Response Test
These two tests are done together, and they are the only tests everyone must do. They show how your body handles sugar, and how much insulin it needs to do it.
- A fasting blood sample is taken (after at least 8 hours without food).
- You drink a 75 g glucose drink.
- Blood is drawn again at 1 hour and at 2 hours, checking both insulin and glucose.
Plan to stay at the lab for about 2 hours. Avoid exercising or walking around. Just sit and relax.
